Job Description
The primary function of this position is to assist with the receiving of inbound orders. This is a warehouse position responsible for unloading inbound shipments, conveying product to the receiving staging area, and breaking down product and separating product by specific item numbers. An individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate an electric pallet jack (or other powered industrial equipment) to unload inbound shipments from trailers and convey product to the receiving area and warehouse aisles.
- Breakdown and restack product from pallets.
- Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment including, but not limited to, powered industrial equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Perform pre-trip inspections, and safely operate all powered industrial equipment.
- Shrink-wrap product on the loading dock.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Organize warehouse slots to prepare for selection by rotating pallets and fronting shelves.
- Adhere to all safety practices and company policies and food safety principles. Immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
- Attend all required company meetings.
QualificationsEducation/Training - Must be able to read, write and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety requirements.
- Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Experience operating electric pallet jack or forklift preferred.
Physical Requirements: The physical requirements described here are representative of those required of an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds, using safe lifting practices.
- Frequently reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets.
- Constantly bend and twist while operating a pallet jack or other powered industrial equipment, retrieving items from lower shelf areas.
Schedule - Monday through Friday: 7:00am - 3:30pm
- Pay: $18.00
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Must be able to work the assigned schedule.
- Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment and tools used to perform the job.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must successfully pass a controlled substance screening test.
- Must adhere to all safety practices and company policies.
- Able to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift, in a fast-paced environment.
- Develop a working knowledge of the product.
- Must be able to work as a team and individually
- Must be able to follow directions o Attention to detail is key in this position
