These are temporary, non-benefited position. This is a great way for a new MLS graduate to gain valuable experience with public services in an academic library. The position reports to the Head of Reference.TOUR OF DUTY: varies. 10 hours a week. May include weekend and/or evening hours as needed*Flexibility with work schedule is required Position TypeTemporary Essential Duties* Provide reference and research services to Bridgewater State University students, faculty, and staff, as well as to community users, which includes but is not limited to instructing users how to search the library's catalog, print resources, electronic databases, and other available information sources.* Instruct classes in research strategies, information ethics, information discovery, library resources, and resource analysis.* Respond to inquiries in-person, by phone, email, and by Chat.* May assist with outreach and marketing activities under the direction of the chair of the Marketing Committee.* Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to working collaboratively with other librarians and/or staff on projects related to library services or programs.
