Position Summary: The Project Manager/Grant Writer will play a critical role in securing funding and ensuring the efficient management of grant processes. This position combines grant writing expertise with project management responsibilities to support the Grant Administration department. The ideal candidate is highly organized, skilled in time management, and proficient in Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, and file management systems. They will oversee the coordination of grant activities, reporting, and compliance while maintaining efficient workflow and communication within the department. We are seeking a Grant professional who is collaborative, adaptable, and able to work effectively within multiple teams to manage all phases of public and private sector grant development and reporting for federal, state, and local organizations. Working with an existing three-person grant team and reporting to the Director of Grant Administration, this position will work closely with executive management, leadership, and partner organizations to craft high-impact proposals for funding to support FSRI's 30+ programs, which span our Health, Healing, Hope, and Home pillars, as well as our affiliates. This will also include working with elected officials, federal and state agencies, and others on letters of support, letters of interest/inquiry, responses to requests for contract bids, related funder reporting, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Writing & Administration:

  • Research, identify, and apply for grant funding opportunities from private, corporate, and government sources.
  • Write compelling grant proposals, letters of intent, and applications aligned with the organization's mission and funding priorities.
  • Develop and maintain a grants calendar, tracking deadlines and submission requirements.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary data and narratives for proposals.
  • Manage post-award compliance, including reporting, budget tracking, and adherence to funder guidelines.
  • Support the development of impact reports and other documentation required by funders.
  • Maintain an organized repository of grant proposals, awards, and reporting documents.
  • Assist with the development of federal and State of RI proposals, including uploading application materials through their systems.

Project Management:

  • Utilize Monday.com to track grant application progress, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Oversee project timelines, ensuring that all grant-related tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Assist with the organization and management of digital files in Microsoft Teams and internal grant databases.
  • Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely submission of grant applications and reports.
  • Manage multiple projects at different stages while maintaining high attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Implement and refine internal workflows to improve grant tracking and department efficiency.
  • Adapt to changing priorities with agility and professionalism while maintaining project timelines.
  • Coordinate meetings, document key takeaways, and follow up on action items related to grant funding and administration.
  • Provide administrative support, including report writing and file management for the Grant Administration department.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, human services, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in grant writing and/or project management within a nonprofit or related setting.
  • Strong knowledge of grant research, proposal writing, and funder compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, and file/document management tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across various teams while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work occasional (not regular) nights and weekends preferred.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting in the context of grants is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills are compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
  • Multilingual skills are compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in government grant writing and compliance.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit funding structures and reporting requirements.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, CAPM) is a plus.
