Job Description

As a Field Auto Damage Adjuster, you will play a critical role in our auto claims handling process by writing estimates at customer homes, repair shops, or tow yards. This role involves a wide range of interactions—face-to-face, virtual, and written—as you assess and finalize estimates. You'll work across various claim types, including repairable estimates, total loss assessments, and virtual inspections, making for a dynamic and engaging work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. The Customer Service Expert: Live into Allstate's Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring. Be compassionate, clear, and a committed partner in each claim. Lead with empathy.
  2. The Investigator: Independently investigate claims by performing detailed damage reviews and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
  3. The Effective Communicator: Use phone, email, and video chat to help customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process. Offer communication preferences and keep customers updated.
  4. The Negotiator: Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants, following legal and business standards, handling challenging situations tactfully.
  5. The Problem Solver: Utilize tools like estimate programs, job aids, and settlement platforms, applying critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  6. The Recorder: Protect the company financially by executing policies accurately and maintaining clear records in the claims system, ensuring timely documentation.

Work Location

  • This is a field-based role in or near Providence, RI.
  • An $80 monthly internet stipend may be provided.
  • A company car may be offered.

Licensing Requirements

  • Obtain necessary adjuster licenses within 60 days of hire, maintaining all licensing requirements including continuing education.
  • Eligible candidates may receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus if holding active appraiser or adjuster licenses in TX, FL, or their resident state (excluding current or previous Allstate employees seeking rehire).

Education and Experience

  • At least 24 months of experience writing auto damage estimates.
  • Proficiency with auto estimating programs like CCC One, Audatex, Mitchell.
  • Valid driver's license.

Functional Skills

  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, technological proficiency, and excellent organizational skills.

Additional Information
