Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of maintenance technicians in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for planning, assigning, supervising, and directing maintenance activities, as well as mentoring and training the maintenance team to achieve departmental goals. A strong focus on Food Safety, Personal Safety, and Operational Integrity is essential in this position.

The Maintenance Supervisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring all equipment is maintained, installed, and repaired according to company and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience, leadership skills, and the ability to develop their team while working collaboratively with management and other departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate equipment setups, repairs, and installations to meet operational requirements.
  • Supervise and participate in maintenance and repair of all machinery and equipment.
  • Implement and oversee skill development plans for maintenance technicians.
  • Manage staffing and scheduling to meet production deadlines.
  • Ensure strict adherence to GMPs, SOPs, FDA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain plant facilities and equipment in compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Train new hires in company procedures and safety protocols.
  • Lead by example-coaching and motivating team members for continuous improvement.
  • Enforce safety programs and monitor compliance across all shifts.
  • Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized throughout the shift.
Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate Degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology or equivalent training and experience.
  • Completion of a formal management training program is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in plant maintenance and engineering.
  • Hands-on expertise in HVAC, refrigeration, welding, electronic/electrical repair, industrial equipment, wastewater systems, boilers, etc.
  • At least 5 years of experience supervising maintenance operations.
  • Proven ability to develop SOPs and training programs to elevate department performance.
  • Track record of improving KPIs such as downtime reduction, cost control, and preventative maintenance (PM) completion.
  • Demonstrated commitment to mentoring and skill development of direct reports.
  • Willingness to work in a challenging environment including variable temperatures, rotating schedules, and weekend availability.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with both major and minor equipment.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and access machinery for repair or inspection.
