Position: Security Monitor
Location: Stacy Middle School
Schedule: 2025-2026 School Year (plus additional extracurricular activities)
Reports To: Principal/Associate and Assistant Principal(s)
Salary: Starting at $25,350
To Start: August 2025
Qualifications: College graduate with post-graduate experience preferred or training in computer technology, military, security leadership, communications, public relations, video surveillance monitoring, and/or police work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily building security checks and report any security breaches to the Building Administration and/or Custodian.
• Assist in lockdowns and other security procedures as required.
• Provide supervision within the building and on school grounds, including common areas, hallways, and parking lots.
• Collaborate with the school resource officer on issues related to security, vandalism, trespassing, unlawful entry, theft, violence, and other disturbances.
• Perform routine building walk-throughs throughout the day, develop walk-through procedures, and create appropriate reporting forms for administration.
• Assist Administrators and resource officers with locker searches, student supervision, and investigations as needed.
• Attend and monitor dances and extracurricular activities as required.
• Supervise in-house suspension and Saturday school as needed.
• Provide the Principal with detailed school safety reports.
• Investigate reports of theft, vandalism, and security breaches as assigned by the Administration.
• Monitor video surveillance upon request from the Administration, report malfunctions, and make recommendations for improvements.
• Communicate effectively with staff and students.
• Utilize training in de-escalation techniques to manage situations calmly and effectively.
