GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2+ years of experience to support our rapidly growing civil/stormwater engineering practice in our Providence, RI office. The ideal candidate for this position possesses a degree in Civil Engineering and has experience in civil engineering consulting, technical skills, construction phase experience, and regulatory knowledge. We expect the qualified individual to have interest in civil or environmental engineering and be capable of developing skills in planning, design, coordination, and construction as well as learning to perform projects in compliance with state and local laws and regulations.
As a Civil Engineer at GZA, you will work as part of a team of dedicated staff of interrelated professionals under the guidance of a Project Manager/Principal. You will assist with planning, design, permitting and construction of various site civil, stormwater and wastewater management projects. The position will perform both field work and office work. Key Duties:
- Performing limited site topographic surveys and utility investigations Overseeing and documenting civil / environmental construction projects.
- Conducting/reviewing technical analyses/calculations.
- Development of design figures, reports and permit application packages.
- Developing health and safety plans and managing implementation and compliance with GZA Health and Safety programs, policies, and procedures during on-site activities.
- Monitoring subcontractor performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets.
- Preparing reports and work plans with Project Manager and Principal guidance and review.
- Communicating effectively and efficiently with clients and team members.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday and some evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally.

Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Civil (Master's Degree a plus).
- 2+ years' experience in Civil engineering preferably with a consulting firm
- Professional Licensure or Registration (Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer) preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform and manage field tasks and activities.
- Desire to execute a wide range of civil engineering projects.
- Strong interest in safety.
- Self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction.
- Demonstrate professional judgment, consistency, strong attention to detail, and background of high-quality work products.
- Demonstrate performance of independent analysis, problem solving and strong organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A valid driver's license in good standing.
