Job Details

Maintains, repairs, inspects and installs steam plant/refrigeration plant, machinery and associated equipment. Education: Skills normally obtained through completion of a High School education. Licensure: Must obtain a City of Providence Boiler Operator or Stationary Engineer License. Experience: Three to five years experience in boiler operator or Stationary Engineering field. Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Work requires person to stand or walk most of the day. On average, approximately 75% of the tasks involve lifting weights in the range of 5 to 10 pounds and 5% of the tasks involve lifting weights in the range of 25 to 50 pounds. On average, approximately 50% of the tasks involve reaching overhead and working off of ladders most of this time. On average, approximately 5% of the duties involve working with hazardous substances that necessitate the use of safety apparel.
