This is more than a senior leadership role-it's a chance to help shape the future of a well-established, highly respected and rapidly evolving company. As VP of Operations, you'll provide strategic business counsel and vision for the entire organization, with an emphasis on inspiring our teams across Service, Parts, Transportation, Safety, Compliance and Continuous Improvement, ensuring a best-in-class customer experience and operational success.

What You'll Do

  • Champion Strategy & Efficiency: Lead day-to-day operations across multiple locations while aligning departmental goals with company strategy.
  • Empower & Lead Teams: Provide executive leadership to department managers, drive employee engagement, and build a collaborative, high performance culture.
  • Standardize Excellence: Develop and formalize a Documented Management System (DMS), streamline SOPs, champion lean operations and continuous improvement and reinforce high-quality standards across departments.
  • Drive Operational Success: Optimize logistics, service, parts and equipment inventory, safety programs, inter-departmental operations and resource planning to ensure peak performance and profitability.
  • Own the Metrics: Establish and track KPIs across functions to monitor outcomes, improve processes, and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
  • Foster a Culture of Safety & Quality: Lead safety initiatives and regulatory compliance across all facilities, while supporting continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
  • Collaborate at the Highest Level: Work closely with the CEO and executive team to align operations with strategic company objectives and growth initiatives.
  • Establish and meet financial targets: Develop and manage budgets for all departments under the VP of Operations, ensuring financial targets are met and cost management initiatives are effectively executed while maintaining quality service levels.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, ideally within the material handling, manufacturing, or service industries.
  • Proven experience managing large teams across diverse departments, including service, parts, logistics, and continuous improvement teams.
  • Strong understanding of service operations, parts, inventory management, management, and transportation logistics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in driving operational efficiency, cost optimization, and customer satisfaction improvements using lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop department managers and employees at all levels, with a focus on unity and shared vision.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and financial management skills.
  • Strategic visionary and tactical decision maker who ensures operational strategies are executed efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and team members at all levels.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards and best practices.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, P&L and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Highly organized, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Customer-centric mindset.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and other operational tools.
  • Change management expertise. Comfortable navigating and leading through periods of significant change and growth.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions experience preferred. Ability to smoothly integrate processes, systems and cultures, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and staff.
  • This role is based in Wallingford, CT and will require frequent travel to our facilities in Lawrence, MA and Edgewood, NY. Occasional travel to customer sites, vendors and other Raymond Corporation or Sales & Service Centers, required.
