Document Management Associate

Summary

Responsible for filing patient documents within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a timely and accurate manner. Responsibilities
  • Retrieve documents from the Fax Inbox and file them in the appropriate patients EMR.
  • Ensure assigned offices inboxes are within standard protocols of timeliness, accuracy, and volume.
  • Complete structured data fields for required documents associated with quality measures.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports of daily productivity logs to the Lead Document Management Associate.
  • Upload documents from scanning and provider-to-provider electronic exchange within the EMR.
  • Comply with federal and local confidentiality laws, including HIPAA, ensuring patient privacy.
  • Adhere to Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care guidelines for protecting patients demographic, clinical, and financial information.
  • Perform other job?related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 12 years experience working in a medical office setting with medical documents.
  • Experience working with an EMR.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficient computer skills including typing; detail- and process-oriented with a focus on efficiency.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Physical ability: sit and stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Visual acuity, hearing, and speaking necessary to transfer information and communicate effectively.

Physical Requirements
  • Physical Effort and Dexterity: sit and stand for prolonged periods, work and move among all departments of Brown Health Medical Group Primary Care group, lift up to 15 pounds, manual dexterity to operate personal computers and standard office machines.
  • Visual Acuity and Hearing: required to transfer information from paper to computer, from computer to computer, and to communicate in person and on telephone.

Work Type

Full-time, Monday?Friday 7:30?AM 4:00?PM, Day shift, 8?hours per day, Driving required: Yes.
