SSTAR is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) which affords our employees eligibility to apply for one of our three Loan Repayment Programs.

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for general cleaning of the facility, grounds maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair as needed.

SHIFT: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00am - 2:00pm.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintenance performs stripping and waxing of floors
  • Assist with waste removal and recycling program
  • Maintenance maintain gardens and grounds
  • Carry out painting of the facility as directed
  • Under general direction carry out minor building repairs
  • Perform Housekeeping duties, if needed. ( Including cleaning up work areas before departing for the day.)
  • Assist other members of the maintenance staff as required
  • Snow removal (Mandatory to work for snow emergencies)/ able to shovel heavy wet snow
  • On-Call for emergency maintenance service and snow removal
  • Other duties as required. Including Security duties if needed.

Experience and Skills
Education & Experience
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to participate in physical labor, i.e., heavy lifting, general repair, electrical,
  • Plumbing, carpentry, maintenance, grounds maintenance, shoveling snow, etc.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs as well as repetitive bending and stooping.
  • Ability to safely use both power and hand tools.
  • Able to climb ladders.
  • Must be able to be available for On-Call on a rotation
  • Valid Driver's License
