Litigation Associate Attorney

Join McAngus Goudelock & Courie's Litigation Team in Providence, RI. Remote/hybrid options will be considered after training/integration with the team.

Ideal candidates will have 1-5 years of practice experience and must be licensed to practice law in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, or have pending bar exam results. Connecticut bar is also a plus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of prior insurance defense experience is encouraged.
• Required: Juris Doctorate.
• Required: Bar admission.
• Preferred: Experience with insurance defense.
