Cure Technician

Description:

Commonwealth Alternative Care is seeking motivated individuals who can work in a growing, fast-paced environment. Cure Technicians will be responsible for processing cannabis plants through the curing and testing processes. Processing cannabis is a detail-oriented job that requires hard work, passion, and a willingness to learn. Our goal is to process and cure dried cannabis carefully and efficiently to keep production levels to satisfy the needs of our patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stay up to date and comply with industry compliance standards set forth by the state of Massachusetts
  • Always adhere to all safety policies and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Showing up each day being dependable, professional, and ready to work their entire scheduled shift.
  • Sanitizing and cleaning of workstations may also include the cure rooms worked in for the day. Additionally, other cure rooms may need to be fully cleaned and sanitized.
  • Maintain proper inventory, make adjustments, and allocate harvest batches to uphold accuracy in the state-mandated tracking program.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all batches and packages through the cure rooms.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all WIP batches, including daily inventory and routing audits
  • Communicate any abnormalities (mold, seed, pests) found with the product to a Manager or Lead
  • Pull In-House Samples from WIP trim bags, and properly store for Genetics, Micros, or Cannabinoid in-house testing
  • Accurately weigh out and prepare packages to be processed through the purifying box
  • Effectively communicated all discrepancies found to a Lead or Manager as soon as possible
  • Adhering to scheduled curing/burping tasks
  • Accurately recording the usage of and following operational instructions on using the purify box, which uses reactive oxygen.
  • Separate and track cannabis buds, trim, stems, and plant material wasted. Filling out paperwork to record all data and verifying that the recorded data is accurate.
  • Able to field general departmental questions regarding the department posed by external leadership members
  • Ability to operate their daily tasks independently of a Lead or Manager.
  • Physically consolidate a batch into accurately weighted and labeled packages as directed by the CCC and input data into METRC
  • Transfer packages between licenses, creating an accurate manifest that adheres to CCC and compliance guidelines.
  • Help create a proactive and positive environment; having a positive attitude and self-motivation to help produce a high-quality manicured product, while meeting and/or exceeding personal and/or company goals.
  • All candidates must be ready, willing, and able to work a fully flexible work schedule to include days, nights, and weekends to meet fluctuating business demands based on the needs of the individual department

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 1 year of post-harvest experience in trimming/bucking preferred
  • 1-3 years of cannabis industry experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of medical/recreational marijuana laws, rules, and regulations set forth by the state/CCC.
  • Intermediate math skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of how to use a scale.
  • Analyzing material/products for any abnormalities.
  • Intermediate computer skills: email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc
  • Ability to multitask and pivot tasks quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in policy, procedure, methods, and/or techniques.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Attention to detail
  • Every job applicant must pass a comprehensive background check, including requirements set by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission. A job offer issued before completion of a background check is contingent upon a positive result. A negative background check result may lead to the withdrawal of the job offer.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Able to stand for extended periods, and kneel, stoop, bend, twist, in tight areas
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/and or move up to 75 pounds
  • Repetitive use of hands for all functions
  • Willingness to work in enclosed rooms
