Job Summary
Material handlers are responsible for a variety of administrative and physical tasks involved in the storing, counting, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. They compile and maintain records of the quantity and type of material stocked and issued. Material handlers maintain the distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished products to meet production schedule requirements to the high-quality standard expected by the company.
Essential Functions
- Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording the location of inventory in Oracle.
- Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on move orders and pick slips, delivering them, and completing appropriate transactions in Oracle.
- Receive return material and supplies from production, verify item number, lot number, and quantity; place materials in stock and complete appropriate Oracle transactions.
- Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, picking, packing, crating, loading, and securing products by following operating procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain material-handling equipment such as scales by completing pre-use inspections.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Troubleshoot problems quickly and efficiently, seeking advice where necessary.
- Assist others to provide an organized and clean workplace, including all areas of the plant, workstations, equipment, walkways, and break rooms using 5S procedures.
- Participate in and implement continuous improvement projects.
- Safely and efficiently meet all requirements assigned to you by following operating procedures and work instructions, in accordance with the company's ISO 9001:2015 procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
- Possess strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well as a team.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, as well as comprehend verbal instructions and effectively communicate verbally.
- Computer familiarity and data entry skills.
- Ability to self-start yet take orders as directed.
- Consistent and punctual attendance required. Must be available to work assigned shifts and required overtime.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and work that requires repetitive motion.
