Manufacturing Material Handler

The Manufacturing Material Handler performs various warehouse duties, including packing and shipping customer orders, maintaining inventory levels, and operating warehouse tools to locate, store, and transport materials used in the manufacturing process.

Essential functions include:

  • Performs shipping, receiving, storage, picking, checking, and loading duties following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as well as Machine Operating Procedures (MOP).
  • Performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
  • Operates various warehouse equipment, including but not limited to sit-down forklift, stock picker, and RF scanners.
  • Maintains equipment, including performing safety checks.
  • Complies with all applicable safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to the Team Leader or appropriate resource.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Notifies the Team Leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
  • Meets established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Ensures that the product meets nVent's quality specifications.
  • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications/job specifications include:

  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse work experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of forklift and stock picker experience preferred.
  • Computer knowledge necessary, including Excel, Word, Outlook, JD Edwards, and Internet.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including but not limited to: UPS WorldShip, FedEx, Ship Manager, and LTL shipping procedures.
  • Ability to operate the equipment necessary to position. i.e. Forklifts, stock picker, RF scanner, shrink wrapper, bander, battery charger, dock levers.
  • Knowledge of, and ability to promote, compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Skill in analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Skill in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Ability to function and maintain a positive attitude in a high-pressure work environment.
