Job Summary:

ParsonsKellogg is seeking a talented and proactive Purchasing Associate to join our team. The Purchasing Associate is responsible for executing daily planning and procurement activities to ensure optimal inventory levels and seamless order execution. This role works cross-functionally with vendors, finance, receiving, and sales teams to manage orders, resolve discrepancies, and ensure speedy and accurate order fulfillment.

Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 Annually (Salary + Bonus)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily planning processes and place all purchase orders with vendors.
  • Monitor and manage all open purchase orders, identifying potential delays, shortages, or fulfillment issues.
  • Communicate with vendors to confirm order status, shipping timelines, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Partner with finance and receiving teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Regularly review all open purchase orders to identify potential issues or delays.
  • Communicate with sales reps on out-of-stock or backordered items.
  • Manage product returns to vendors, ensuring timely processing and accurate issuance of credits.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and system data to support reporting and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, vendor performance, and inventory flow.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred, as it provides the foundational analytical framework beneficial for this role.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in a corporate or specialized environment, with a history of increasing responsibility.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion while meeting rigorous deadlines.
  • Advanced communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Skilled in data synthesis and the use of industry-standard software to drive informed decision-making.
  • A highly motivated self-starter capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy and minimal oversight.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with the utmost professionalism and ethical judgment.
