Job Title: Medical Records Clerk (Milford, MA)

This is a fully onsite position in Milford, MA

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

  • Tracks all denials and appeals including but not limited to Medical Necessity, DRG/Coding, Clinical Validation, RACs, etc. using Excel.
  • Tracks appeals through various stages which may include 1 st , or 2nd levels of appeals, and up to appeals at the ALJ (Administrative Law Judge) level.
  • Processes all denials and appeals including uploading denials to vendor for review. Interacts with physicians and nurses regarding appeals.
  • Processes and mails all appeal letters including cover letters, appeal request forms, and patient documentation accurately, completely and timely to meet all deadlines.
  • Works closely with various depts including Care Management, Patient Financial Services, Coding and Vendors.
  • Works directly with payers and utilizes payer portals.
  • Tracks financial gains and losses via Excel spreadsheets to be presented at various Revenue Cycle committees.
  • Reconciles and validates all invoices received from appeals vendor and processing of other invoices.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working in a HIM (medical records) department or similar medical office / environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Schedule/ Shift: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
