SUMMARY

The Corporate Counsel roles is an in-house, generalist position that will support a wide range of business needs for a global consumer goods company. Tasks include negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial contracts, corporate governance, litigation support and other riskmitigation initiatives.

The right individual will have 5-10 years of broad-based legal experience, commercially focused business acumen, self-sufficient legal skills and able to support a fast-paced, global business environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Serve as a business partner working cross-functionally to close commercial transactions, drive initiatives to increase revenue and margin and manage strategic projects and activities.

• Responsible for a myriad of business contracts, including customer and vendor contracts, commercial lease agreements, international distribution agreements and supplier agreements.

• Support corporate compliance and risk mitigation initiatives.

• Assist with employment and HR legal issues.

• Assist with management of commercial litigation and intellectual property.

• Drive business simplification and operations improvements.

• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• 5-10 years of corporate in-house experience with a focus on commercial, intellectual property, compliance and generalist work.

• Ability to review, process, prioritize, and draft a host of commercial contracts for various business segments in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with consumer products and/or retailer industry preferred.

• Ability to work autonomously on a multiple of projects.

• The individual must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professional demeanor, work well under pressure, and have a strong work ethic and an appropriate sense of urgency.

EDUCATION

• Juris Doctor from ABA approved law school.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, database management experience.

• Strong business acumen and verbal and written communication skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• License to practice law in the State of Georgia or State of Rhode Island preferred (required to be active license).

• Will also consider qualified remote candidates.
