Under the general supervision of the Building Official, the Plumbing, Mechanical, and Energy Code Inspector performs technical work inspecting plumbing and mechanical installations for conformity with BOCA Basic Plumbing Code, BOCA Basic Mechanical Code, State regulations and City Ordinances. The Plumbing, Mechanical, and Energy Code Inspector performs minimum housing and property inspections, and is responsible for interpretation of codes, regulations and ordinances covering existing and new installations. In carrying out the City's inspection program, the Plumbing, Mechanical, and Energy Code Inspector reviews plans, approves or disapproves permit applications, conducts field inspections, makes reports, and may perform duties as the Building Inspector. The Plumbing, Mechanical, and Energy Code Inspector takes individual initiative and exercises judgment and discretion within the limits of standard practices and legal requirements.
