We are seeking a dependable and motivated 2nd Shift Team Lead to oversee daily production activities within a fast-paced machining environment. This role is responsible for supporting machine operators, ensuring production goals are met, maintaining quality standards, and promoting a safe and efficient workplace. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, machining experience, and the ability to troubleshoot production issues while driving continuous improvement. Shift is 3PM-11PM M-F
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support 2nd shift machining personnel in daily production activities.
Monitor workflow to ensure production schedules and deadlines are achieved.
Assign work, prioritize jobs, and coordinate shift activities with production management.
Set up and oversee CNC machines, machining centers, and related equipment as needed.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues to minimize downtime.
Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Train and mentor machine operators on equipment, safety procedures, and best practices.
Maintain accurate production, scrap, and downtime records.
Enforce company safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and quality departments to resolve operational issues.
Support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean manufacturing and 5S practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
3+ years of machining or CNC manufacturing experience preferred.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and quality inspection methods.
Experience with CNC mills, lathes, or Swiss machines preferred.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices is a plus.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
