Job Overview Retail Marketing Account Manager collaborates with the Merchandising, Sales, and Professional Services teams to develop marketing strategies, promotions, and media plans aimed at driving sales and consumer loyalty for independent retail customers. Account Managers will work with each other and across regions on various programs and processes. The primary objectives include managing the planning and implementation of marketing strategies and services.Job Responsibilities Gain a strong understanding of assigned accounts, their consumer segments, and the competitive environment.Develop and implement plans based on retailer needs.Collaborate with regional and wholesale merchandising departments to create, develop, and implement 52‑week marketing plans.Grow sales of marketing services, including traditional print media and digital services such as eCommerce, loyalty, and web, aiming to achieve annual sales targets.Manage weekly and seasonal retailer print vehicles to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and budget objectives are met.Provide direction to vendors on executing all print programs.Become an expert in assigned services and serve as a go‑to resource for programs like house ad, in‑store sign, and new mover programs.Meet financial budget targets and bill projects timely to meet account line budgets per period.Communicate marketing programs effectively to internal stakeholders and retailers to gain buy‑in and participation.Collaborate with Digital Managers and Specialists to increase digital penetration within the independent base.Conduct presentations on marketing services and programs to relevant audiences.Manage retail accounts and/or oversee execution teams, including coordinators and third‑party vendors.Develop budgets and sales targets for respective accounts and programs, if applicable.Supervise the day‑to‑day activities of the coordinator team, providing training, performance evaluations, and development plans.Perform other relevant duties as required.Job Requirements Education / Certifications BS in Marketing or a related field.Experience At least 5 years of related marketing experience.Preferably 3 years of grocery marketing experience.Experience in sales and client relationship management.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Strong knowledge of advertising and sales promotion, with successful application of these skills.Experience with digital media, including eCommerce, loyalty programs, and social media.Advertising agency experience (account executive) with retail and/or packaged goods accounts is a plus.Knowledge of printing processes, layout, design, copywriting, and print distribution.Adaptability to new technologies.Strategic and tactical planning skills.Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams.Independent work ethic, prioritization skills, and deadline management.Effective problem‑solving skills.Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.Good judgment, especially when supervision is limited.Physical Demands / Environments Some travel may be required. Work is primarily in a temperature‑controlled office environment. Prolonged sitting at a desk or computer. Use of office equipment such as calculators, keyboards, and telephones.
