Job Description

Job Title: Restaurant Server

Department: Bluefin Grille

Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Position Summary:

The Restaurant Server is responsible for promoting and selling the Bluefin menu while delivering exceptional guest service. This position ensures accurate order taking, timely food delivery, guest satisfaction, and compliance with restaurant service and food safety standards.

Experience & Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
  • Minimum of 1 year of server experience in a high-volume or fine dining restaurant or dining facility

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and provide a welcoming dining experience
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders
  • Present and describe menu specials to guests
  • Answer guest questions regarding menu items, preparation methods, and pricing
  • Ensure food appearance, temperature, and portion sizes meet quality standards
  • Deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner
  • Prepare guest checks accurately following standard procedures
  • Process guest payments and provide accurate change
  • Clean, clear, and reset tables and service items
  • Complete assigned side-work and cleaning checklists
  • Restock service stations and supplies as needed
  • Assist with guest seating and answer restaurant telephone calls when necessary
  • Maintain a strong commitment to guest satisfaction
  • Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and friendly hospitality attitude
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and safe food handling procedures
  • Knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages
  • TIPS certification or ability to become TIPS certified
  • Ability to operate the Micro's computer system
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend and lift food trays up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work continuously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to safely carry hot and cold food items
