Certification Details BLS Radiologic Technologist and Technician State License Registered Technologist (R.T. ARRT) Mammography (R.T. M ARRT) Job Details Under direct supervision, performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease in women patients. May perform screening exams or diagnostic exams. Greet and prepare patients for their procedures. Take verbal orders from physician. Perform therapeutic and diagnostic studies on patients. Prints film or burns CDs if warranted and matches with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation. Assist in quality improvement programs in the department. Assists in training new personnel in hospital and department procedures. Instructs Radiologic Technology students in the radiographic positioning, technique, and film critique. Documents patient mammogram services by completing patient record charting. Job Requirements Associate's Degree Radiology required; no experience in lieu of degree accepted. Radiologic Technologist and Technician State License preferred. Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] preferred. Mammography [R.T.(M)(ARRT)] preferred. Mammography work experience 1-2 years preferred. Ability to handle assignments under minimal supervision. Familiarity with and ability to use specialized equipment. Strong interpersonal skills to place patients and family members at ease. Knowledge of sterile technique. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Schedule Information Shift: 08:00 - 16:30 Additional Details Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, lifting (35lbs with assisted device), carrying (20-35lbs), balancing, reaching, gross and fine manipulation, and constant feeling, vision (far and near), talking, and hearing.
