Medical Receptionist
Job Summary
Adecco Staffing is seeking a professional, customer-focused Medical Receptionist to support a growing primary care practice. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting and be comfortable working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
This individual will be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing an exceptional patient experience. The role requires strong communication and administrative skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and the ability to handle confidential patient information with professionalism and integrity.
The schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:45AM - 4:45 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service to patients throughout all stages of their visit, from the initial phone call through follow-up.
Complete daily opening procedures and prepare the front office for patient appointments.
Greet patients warmly upon arrival, determine their needs, and coordinate with appropriate staff members.
Answer incoming phone calls professionally, listen carefully to patient concerns, and provide accurate information or direct calls to the appropriate team member.
Check patients in and out and schedule follow-up and future appointments.
Maintain and update patient records, ensuring all information is accurate and current.
Verify insurance information and assist with prior authorizations as needed.
Assist with the preparation of care plans and related documentation.
Coordinate patient care by following up on referrals, outstanding care needs, and appropriate community or healthcare resources.
Monitor staff and provider messages and assist with requests such as scheduling follow-up appointments and processing medication refill requests.
Provide general administrative support, including typing correspondence, filing documents, and maintaining office supplies.
Maintain confidentiality and handle patient information in accordance with applicable privacy standards and office procedures.
Perform additional administrative and patient support duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting.
Familiarity with Athena Health electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Basic proficiency with word processing and standard office software.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively to a team.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential patient information.

Pay Details: $21.00 per hour
